Christmas presents

MatteoPenzo/blog has now become Yellow Line, pls update your bookmarks

I just had an email exchange with my friend Pabini (UXmatters) where she told me she'd like to visit Europe (and Italy specifically) in this period of the year since she feels it's so different from US.
Actually I think this is not so true: driven by US filmography our (and I'm not only speaking of Italy but of a wider European Xmas culture) cities and blocks are becoming more and more similar to US ones. That could dissappoint or entertain depending on your talibanism.

Personally speaking I'd love to spend Xmas holidays in the US, would like to take a drive in the suburbs and watch the enlighted neat small houses and then downtown to watch big places and skyscrapers and huge christmas trees. But I'm only a guy from the countryside (even though it's the most liveable city in Italy) of a countryside Country, and these are just plain tipical country man desires.

But let me ignite the post (yea, sure) and go directly to the most interesting among the presents I received (in order of appearance/interestingness):
  • A nice pair of sunglasses (I broke mine a couple of years ago and always been too busy to buy a new one; used to wear Barbara's :-)
  • A battery powered drill (I hope I won't need it too much since I'm not so good at this kind of works at home)
  • A musical light spehere that projects animal and coloured flowers on the walls of your baby room (well, actually this was a present to Francesca, but since it could be useful to have her fall asleep I suppose it's more for her parents ;-)
  • A box plenty with tipical Italian extravergine olive oils. I'd say my friend Dirk would have loved something similar, maybe next year, man! ;-)
The waiting to Christmas eve (I'm used to open my presents just after dinner) made me crazy since I was sure I made to 2/3 of my life special people (my wife Barbara and my pal Simone) two of the best present they've ever received:
  • A whole day at one of the beautifullest SPA in Milan for my wife Barbara to recover from the stress of Francesca's birth with massages (which includes one chocolate massage and one mint flowers bath)
  • Simone's present to be inserted here once it arrives (both to me and him ;-)... surprise!
I'll now have to wait for another full year. Damn.
